Favorite Things From September 2008

Here are a few of our favorite things (Isn't that a song from Sound of Music?) from the past month...

1. Dexter...this is by far the best tv show on right now. Dexter Morgan is a blood splatter analyst for the Miami police...he's also a serial killer. Nuff Said! Check it out on Showtime or DVD

2. Project Runway...Kate is really into this show and now she wants a sewing machine. Hopefully she can start making her clothes so we can save some money.

3. Metallica...their new album, Death Magnetic, is a return to their thrasher/speed metal sound of the mid 80's. Fantastic album!

4. Football...the Carolina Panthers are 3-1 and the Chicago Bears are 2-0 (should be 4-0). College has been a huge disappointment for me as Clemson pretends again that they are a contender for the title.

5. Biking...the past 2 weeks we've gone out riding around Charlotte. We've actually started to learn road names! We're hoping to hit up some trails in South Charlotte soon!

Old School Picture of the Week (Part 5)

Ok, here is a picture I've entitled "I Make It Rain," as you can see a monsterous thunderstorm was rolling in. This was taken in the summer of 1999 at Matt Petrick's Aunt's house at LBI.

Phil and I are consuming horrible beer, "Red Dog," and I think he's wearing an official Red Dog t-shirt. Our matching positions on the fence is a nice touch too.

This was a fun weekend!

Old School Picture of the Week (Part 4)

Here is a picture from the end of my Junior year at Elon College. In the photo are Jaime Goebel, Joe Keener, Eric Fonner and Maureen "Moe" Hass. Moe had a trunk full of old clothes and after a few to many beers this is what happened.

We all jumped in a car and hit up the grocery store. I wish we had some of the pictures of the employees looking at us. Good times!

Kiawah Island 2008

Kate and I have returned from a week on Kiawah Island. Our days consisted of watching Regis & Kelly (I still call it Regis & Kathy Lee) while having breakfast, then off to the beach or pool until mid afternoon. After a quick lunch, we would make our way back to the beach or pool. Tough life!

Some Highlights

1. Discovering a new part of the beach I'd never been to.

2. Surviving Tropical Storm Hannah...it really wasn't that bad.

3. Dinner in Charleston...oysters are awesome!

4. Relaxing!!!

5. Attack of flies and misquitos! They were horrible.

6. Our condo was perfect, near the beach and pool.

7. Jim Cantore vs. Mike Seidel on the Weather Channel. These two hate each other, just watch them when a hurricane or tropical storm is approaching. They bicker and mock each other like a couple of high school kids.
