Only a month late (to the day) but oh well... here are Avery's pictures from her first day of preschool. She is in the 3's class 5 days a week and just loves it. She comes home every day full of stories, singing new songs and telling us about everything she is learning. Though I was nervous about the transition at first, it has turned out to be super-smooth, and Avery is doing great. All that worrying for nothing! :)
Avery has Chapel on Wednesdays, Spanish or Music on Thursdays and lots of playing, learning, projects, etc. each day. She is most impressed with the fact that she gets to bring a bag with her lunch and a "friend" (AKA stuffed animal) to nap with.
This little gal is so confident and social. Her teacher told me she is like a little Mommy taking care of the others. Avery called one of the boys in her class "the boy who cries" the first week or two, but now she talks about how she gives him hugs and he's doing much better. She has nicknamed one boy "red bean," calls her friend Jayda her "sister" and tells us that she takes a nap every day even though we know she didn't because her daily sheet says she "rested" instead of "napped." Oh, the things a three-year-old will say! It's been a fun adventure so far & I'll try and share some funny stories along the way.
